UNESCO conference on Science in Africa and AIMS-Senegal

A 2-day conference to celebrate AIMS Sénégal and discuss the choice of science to develop Africa was held at the headquarters of UNESCO on April 14 and 15.

AIMS Alumni share their experience

The conference saw eminent scientists including Prof. Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, Nobel laureate for the discovery of the virus behind the HIV-AIDS epidemic, Prof. Cédric Villani, 2010 Fields medalist, and 12 AIMS Alumni were among a remarkable lineup of distinguished speakers.

Doriano Pougaza (CAR) delivers a message from colleague and friend, Franck Kalala (DRC).

The highlight of the inspirational contributions was the students’ testimonies. In an emotional moment 6 of them and a tutor, shared their experience and explained to a captivated audience what the AIMS experience represented for them. Their honest perspectives were greeted by waves of applause.
